About Nancy

I’m a theatre director, writer, and PhD researcher in English Literature. I use both academic study and creative practice to explore stories of exile, identity, and belonging, aiming to connect research with lived experience.
My projects often connect academic ideas with real-life experiences. I study how displaced and migrant voices shape identity through memory and storytelling. I also explore how philosophy, psychology, sociology, and religious thought deepen our understanding of what people experience when home is no longer fixed.
My research also examines the relationship between identity and the sacred, especially in contexts of rupture and displacement. I am interested in how meaning can survive disruption, and how memory and language protect what feels essential. This perspective informs both my academic work and creative practice.
The Cultural Bridge Theatre Group, originally founded as ICP English Theatre Club, and Starlight Theatre and Arts both grew from this path. They offer spaces where stories can be shared with seriousness and care, and where voices too often left out can be heard.
Everything I write or direct is an ongoing process of study and reflection. Theatre is my way to understand the world and bring people together in conversation.
My literary debut, Beyond Boundaries, is an homage to my grandfather’s life as an artist and theatre director, and part of my own exploration of inherited art, memory, and identity.
At Starlight Theatre and Arts, I offer workshops that inspire both the young and the young at heart, encouraging creativity through practical engagement in theatre, painting, and beyond.
